On April 8, the Three Gorges Reservoir replenished 10 billion m3 of water to the lower reaches within 115 days, which is equivalent to a water volume of 81 East Lakes in Wuhan. This effectively satisfied the water demand in the middle and lower reaches and ensured the smooth progress of spring ploughing.

On June 16, all twelve 850 MW generating units of Wudongde Hydropower Plant were put into operation.

On June 28, the first batch of generating units of Baihetan Hydropower Plant, which has the world's first-largest single-unit capacity and the world's second-largest installed capacity, was officially put into operation. President XI Jinping sent a letter to congratulate Jinsha River Baihetan Hydropower Plant on the commissioning of the first batch of generating units. Premier LI Keqiang gave instructions and Vice Premier HAN Zheng attended the commissioning ceremony.

On December 30, CYPC Sales Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the Sales Company) was inaugurated in Shanghai, which represents a major strategic deployment of CYPC to actively adapt to the reform of the electric power system and face market development opportunities.

On December 31, the annual cumulative power generation of the 6 cascade hydropower plants operated by CYPC reached 262.883 TWh, of which the Three Gorges Hydropower Plant had an annual cumulative power generation of 103.649 TWh, breaking the record of 100 TWh for the third time and marking a historical record in power generation set by the world's largest Clean Energy Corridor.
