On April 27, the asset restructuring of hydropower plants (Wudongde HPP and Baihetan HPP) on the Jinsha River was successfully completed. After the restructuring, the company fully owns all the power generation assets of six hydropower plants on the lower reaches of the Jinsha River and the Yangtze River, including Wudongde, Baihetan, Xiluodu, Xiangjiaba, Gezhouba and Three Gorges HPPs. As a result, its domestic controlled installed capacity of hydropower has reached 71,695 MW.

On June 12, the water level drawdown task for the year 2023 of cascade reservoirs from the lower reaches of the Jinsha River to Three Gorges on the Yangtze River was completed. Since the establishment of Three Gorges Reservoir, the target water level of drawdown prior to the flood season has been raised to 150m for the first time.

On June 28, the construction of Chongqing Fengjie Caizi Dam Pumped Storage Power Station commenced.

On July 1, the four cascade hydropower stations including Wudongde, Baihetan, Xiluodu, and Xiangjiaba hydropower plants on the lower reaches of the Jinsha River achieved integrated regulation and control.

On August 25, the daily power generation capacity of the six cascade hydropower plants distributed from the lower reaches of the Jinsha River to the Three Gorges reached 1,468 GWh, setting a new historical record.

On December 28, construction of the main powerhouse of Zhangye Pumped Storage Power Station was formally started, making it the first pumped storage power station in Gansu Province to commence the construction of the main powerhouse.
On December 28, the company's market capitalization exceeded CNY 580 billion for the first time, setting a record high for seven consecutive years. This has stabilized its rank at the first place in the A-share electricity sector and among the top three globally listed electric companies.

As of December 31, the company has successfully taken over the operation and maintenance of 17 photovoltaic plants of the Lower Jinsha River Integrated Wind-Solar-Hydro-Storage Base, including 16 in Yunnan and 1 in Sichuan, with cumulative installed capacity of nearly 2,000 MW.
As of December 31, the cumulative generation capacity of six cascade hydropower plants on the mainstream of the Yangtze River has achieved 276,263 GWh for the year, and the company has fulfilled its two zero accident objectives in work safety for 14 consecutive years.
